Hi, I'm

Nate Ginesi

A UX consultant with over fifteen years of design and management experience guiding teams to digital solutions that align business goals with user needs, driving impactful results for organizations in a wide range of industries.

History

During my sixteen-year tenure with UX consultancy firm LookThink, I played a pivotal role in growing the company from a team of five in a basement to over 30 designers, developers, project managers, and experience architects. In July 2022, LookThink was acquired by Virginia-based digital marketing firm Whereoware. In my time with LookThink, company revenue increased from under $1 million annually to nearly $6 million at the time of acquisition.

Roles

As part of the company's growth, I took on various roles, starting as a Designer and progressing to Information Architect, Manager, and eventually Director of Experience Architecture and Design. I led a team of up to seven employees, while also mentoring individuals to solve real-world business problems through user-centered design. I was involved in client and talent acquisition, relationship building, and business development. I introduced rapid prototyping and Lean UX practices, ensuring our team delivered functional and aesthetically pleasing solutions that aligned user experiences and business needs.

Relevant Experience

The selection of work provided highlights my expertise in solving complex, business-critical challenges across diverse industries, including healthcare, hospitality, government, and financial services. Along with managing teams performing similar tasks, my responsibilities included ideation, requirements gathering, user research, testing, taxonomy creation, rapid prototyping, information architecture, interaction design, product planning, roadmapping, and user acceptance testing.

As Lead Information Architect on Fannie Mae’s enterprise Salesforce platform, I facilitated improvements that enabled the internal pricing team to make faster, more informed mortgage pricing decisions, processing tens of millions of dollars in loans more efficiently and accurately.

  • Conducted interviews with bank executives and Fannie Mae staff to identify pain points and improvement areas.
  • Developed rapid prototypes and validated concepts weekly to streamline development cycles.
  • Engaged in PI planning and Agile ceremonies, working with BAs to document requirements and roadmap future work.

Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB)

Improvements to the platform features increased data reliability, decreased time to complete tasks, and increased visibility across CFPB teams.

  • Acted as user experience consultant, assisting a team of developers in building numerous features for CFPB employees within their internal Salesforce platform.
  • Facilitated workshops, guided wire-framing exercises, and coached prototyping efforts to optimize the user experience for various departments.

Babel Health

The platform helps small- and medium-sized insurance companies recoup tens of thousands of dollars annually on potentially lost reimbursements from Medicaid and Medicare services.

  • Worked with the Babel team and product owners to provide and prioritize feature recommendations; produced a comprehensive clickable prototype, used to test with users and guide development; and managed work across a team of 24 developers in Bangladesh and 3 developers in the US.

SAG-AFTRA

Created a detailed project plan to assist SAG-AFTRA in understanding the timeline and scope of re-platforming their internal research tool to a more modern solution so they could allocate budget for the effort.

  • Facilitated user interviews with each member of the team to understand functionality and identify individual pain points with the existing tool.
  • Created a roadmap for platform enhancements, including a sprint schedule, with basic epics and user stories.
  • Produced initial prototypes of several key features to provide a vision for our path forward together.

Sevita Health (formerly The Mentor Network)

Led a team of user experience architects creating an internal platform used by tens of thousands of users at Sevita Health to manage various aspects of patient care, from attendance to shift notes to food consumption, across their healthcare facilities.

  • Helped product owners and end users identify and prioritize product features, prototyped and tested improvements, and documented technical specifications for the development team.
  • Enhancements to the platform have dramatically reduced costs associated with training times and turnover, saving tens of thousands of dollars annually.

Hilton Hotels

Training time decreased by 75% during the beta training as a result of the new platform. 1000+ agents in several global call centers use the new platform, increasing agent productivity and enhancing customer satisfaction.

  • Acted as lead information architect and UX consultant on an enterprise-level call center platform connecting guests to agents through numerous communication channels within Hilton’s internal support platform on Salesforce.
  • This included rapid prototyping and A/B testing to quickly produce feedback to guide the roadmap and development sprints.
  • Worked with the development team and product owners to manage a UI backlog that was continually prioritized against business and user needs to determine the most high value features.
